Assured 1st Heating & Air is a Black-owned, family-run business, proudly serving Atlanta and communities across Georgia with reliable heating and cooling solutions since 2012. Founded by Salim Shakir II, a licensed HVAC technician, our company was built on values of integrity, determination, and high-quality service. Salim’s motto is simple but powerful:

Our Founder’s Journey: From Childhood Inspiration to Licensed Expert

Salim Shakir II was introduced to the world of HVAC at a young age by his father, Salim Shakir, a skilled technician who passed down his knowledge and work ethic. Working alongside his father for years, Salim developed a deep respect for the trade and a love for solving problems with his hands.



After graduating from Dekalb Technical College in 2011 with a Diploma in Air Conditioning Technology, Salim knew he was ready to take his career to the next level. But the road wasn’t easy.


To become a state-licensed HVAC technician, Salim had to invest in books, review courses, and state testing fees, totaling around $2,500 — all out of pocket. That sacrifice paid off when he passed the exam, earned his license, and officially launched Assured 1st Heating & Air in 2012.

Assured 1st Heating & Air wasn’t built overnight. It took grit, personal investment, and long nights to grow from a one-man operation into a trusted HVAC company serving all of Georgia.


Today, we have a team of certified, highly motivated technicians who share the same drive and commitment to excellence. Every member of our crew is trained to solve even the toughest HVAC problems — and we do it all with a positive attitude and a dedication to customer satisfaction.
